Banner Engineering is coming to UIUC and the Siebel Center for
Engineering Open House 2007 as an official sponsor! Representing Banner
will be UIUC CompE alumni and former WinDevils (SigWin) chair and ACM

ultrasonic sensors. Our main purpose will be to showcase our technology
and give away goodies, but of course we'll also be taking applications
Sensors Market Leader
Since it was founded in 1966, Minneapolis-based Banner Engineering has
consistently pushed the limits of sensor technology. Banner's emphasis
on research and development has led to industry-defining innovations
that have made its sensors more powerful, more versatile, more
affordable and easier to use.
Banner's extensive product offering includes thousands of photoelectric,
ultrasonic, laser, fiber optic and vision sensors used for general
production, machine safety, measurement and inspection. Banner
continually expands its product line to take advantage of technological
advantages and to satisfy customer demand for cutting-edge sensors.
An Emphasis on Engineering
Banner's motto "More Sensors, More Solutions" means that Banner's
commitment extends beyond simply manufacturing sensors. Twenty percent
of Banner's staff is involved in product design, the highest percent in
the industry. Banner headquarters houses more than 100 engineers-the
largest engineering staff of its kind-who research, develop and apply
the latest technologies to areas such as integrated circuit design and
Banner attracts engineers who enjoy the challenge of working on projects
alone or with a small team. And because the company is privately owned,
Banner engineers can focus on developing superior products for a large,
well-established customer base, rather than on meeting stockholder
Internships with Banner Engineering
Each year, Banner offers various engineering internships at our
Minneapolis headquarters. Visit the Banner booth at the Siebel Center
Atrium on Friday and Saturday to learn more about typical opportunities
with Banner in key development areas including software (notably
embedded systems and GUI), analog and digital hardware, signal
processing, physics, computer vision, safety, and mechanical design.
