The Trust Management and Compliance Storage Group at the Department of
Computer Science, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, is seeking
undergraduate research assistants for its research project on keyword
search over combination of databases and text documents.

Eligible candidates should have the following characteristics:
*A strong interest in programming in languages like Java and C++.
*Independent and self-motivated. However, guidance will be provided when
*Interest in database systems and/or information retrieval is a plus but
not a requirement.
*Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its possessions.

The NSF-funded projects will pay each research assistant \\$10/hour for
maximum of 400 hours/undergrad.  Students can use this as their senior
research project. Students majoring in CS are especially encouraged to

Job Description

Time: Summer Internship (June-August 2010)


Developer of mobile application with target toward iPhone/iPad
application with a possibility to expand into other mobile platforms
such as Android, WebOS, and Windows Phone 7


*Will be trained to develop on iPhone OS platform with Objective-C
*Will be a developer of iPhone applications
*Will be responsible for integrating internal and external software
*Will be asked to contribute to shared libraries, and develop code to be
leveraged by partners
*Will expand development for iPad in near future
*May be invited to contribute to Android, Windows Mobile and other
projects, time permitting


*Understanding of client (desktop/mobile) software development
*Good understanding of C/C++ (Objective-C a plus) and Object-Oriented
*Understanding of SQL & XML
*Background in Java desirable
*Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
*Ability to learn new programming languages and keep abreast of latest
*Willingness to learn and practice agile development practices and
