Rotational Assignments
The program has four career paths:  Operations, Technology, Engineering,
and Measurement Science (research and statistical methodologies).  The
program includes four six-month rotations over two years. These
assignments provide challenging on-the-job learning and development
opportunities. Associates work on high priority assignments in various
business functions.  Examples of assignments include:
-	Examples in Technology include:
â?¢	Enable insight - Manage the development of a Metrics Reporting Tool
throughout all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
â?¢	Cross-functional exposure - Build technical skill set while working
on teams to develop flexible and sustainable solutions to accurately
capture audience viewing across all media spaces (online, mobile,
â?¢	Project Management - Manage established IT project team through
business critical hardware and software upgrades, owning project plan,
implementation plan, and ultimately successful delivery.

-     Examples in Operations include:
â?¢	Learn Process Improvement Methodologies - Utilize process
improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean to reduce cycle
time and defects.
â?¢	Deepen Analytical Skills - Analyze performance and delivery data for
global department to identify root causes and develop improvement
focused action plans .
â?¢	Understanding metrics that drive business value - Establish key
metrics to be used in determining acceptable performance levels of a
business process.

    -    Examples in Engineering include:
â?¢	Working with innovative technologies - Partner with engineers at
internet, cell phone, video on demand, and/or television providers to
apply Nielsen engineering technology solutions to enable measurement.
â?¢	Build in Quality - Partner with engineers at TV stations/networks to
diagnose signal problems that impact measurement and lead definition of
technology solutions.
â?¢	Engineering Project Management - Manage the development of a meter
for internet- enabled TVs. The meter detects traffic coming from TVs
(YouTube, Netflix, Hulu) and sends it back for crediting.
Examples in Measurement Science include:
â?¢	Global Research - Work with managers on research projects across the
globe, including testing the TV services and other global projects such
as Life360, China 3-Screens, Nielsen Mobile, and Nielsen Consumer. 
â?¢	Measurement Innovation - Partner directly with stakeholders and
operational groups to conduct innovative research on a variety of
â?¢	Process Optimization - Propose potential research-on-research tests
to improve current Nielsen methodologies and improve response and

A day in the life of an associate may include: conducting project status
updates with team members and key stakeholders; attending Lunch & Learn
training programs; working on project deliverables; and meeting with

Title: Web Development Assistant

The College of Applied Health Sciences is a seeking a student employee
to assist our web support team with coding and application development.
The AHS web support team maintains the college-level site, plus
departmental-level sites and other sites related to College initiatives
and programs.  Knowledge of HTML/CSS + JavaScript is required, and
familiarity with ASP.NET, C#, database programming, and the campus
WebTools suite would be helpful.  Familiarity with accessibility
standards and sensitivity to creating accessible pages and applications
is essential. 

The work required may include content updates to existing sites, code
optimization of pages and applications including our online ticketing
system, the development of supporting features such as photo and video
galleries, all the way up to the design and development of entire
websites (working under the guidance of our primary web developer). 
Experience with design programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe
Illustrator would be helpful, although are not required.  Occasional
interaction with faculty or staff in the College may be required to
provide the needed assistance or to help with troubleshooting.
Conscientiousness, attention to detail,  and the ability to communicate
professionally and respectfully with our faculty and staff are also
desirable qualifications.  The position requires approximately 10 hours
per week in our office at Huff Hall.  The hourly rate of pay is $14.50.
