Title: Hardware Integration Technician Intern

Hiring for: Intern/Co-op
The Hardware Integration Technician Intern is responsible for production
assembly, testing, and packaging of hardware-based products.  Custom
server-based products will be warehoused, produced, tested, and shipped
from our Indianapolis facility to Interactive Intelligence customers and
VAR partners around the globe.

Returned materials (defective or otherwise) are returned to this team to
be evaluated, repaired, and/or refurbished as appropriate from this
operation, as well

Major Responsibilities/Activities
âComputer hardware assembly, installation, testing, and integration,
including implementing assembly instructions contained in a methods
book, knowledge and use of static control methods, ability to
troubleshoot and diagnose hardware failures, light repair of returned
computer systems
âMaterial handling of computer servers and packaging weighing up to 50
âCollaborate with other members of the production team in order to meet
production deadlines
âInteract with the Channel Ready Developers in dealing with new or
updated products
âCommunicate with Shipping and Inventory teams to ensure products are
available when they are ordered

Minimum Requirements
âCurrently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer
Engineering, Computer Information Technology or related technical field
âAbility to read and follow methods book instructions for hardware
âHardware component installation and handling skills
âKnowledge of electrical static control
âCustomer service, teamwork, and effective communication skills
âDemonstrated initiative and adaptability to change
âCompTIA A+  classes or certification is a plus
âLegally eligible to work in the U.S.

Work Context
âWorks under supervision throughout the day
âSome over-time expected during peak quarterly demands (March, June,
September, December)
âWork environment will be a combination of concrete floor, workbench
assembly area, warehouse, and a workstation with desktop computer
âExpected to read and respond to emails on a daily basis
âMust be able to safely lift 50 pounds of computer equipment

âContinuous evaluation and improvement of the existing user interface

Minimum Requirements
âPursuing a degree in Computer Graphics Technology or related field.
âExperience in web design projects.
âDesirable skills include strong knowledge of Photoshop, JavaScript,
HTML, and CSS.
âDesirable skills include familiarity with jQuery and Twitter Bootstrap.
âDesirable skills include wire framing, prototyping, requirements
âExcellent aesthetic judgment including typography, color and layout.
âExcellent communication and documentation skills.
âAbility to understand system requirements, business drivers and
priorities, and integrate these into the overall web design.
âAbility to work independently in a self-directed manner and
collaboratively as a team member.
