Description:
This is a technical position in the Cognitive Computation Group
(http://cogcomp.cs.illinois.edu) with a focus on managing our ongoing
transition to a more consistent implementation of our site using
angular.js, fixing bugs with our custom content management system (CMS),
and possibly helping us transition to a new CMS. Position also involves
developing real-time web demonstrations of Natural Language Processing
(NLP) tools.

Hours (10-20/week) flexible to accommodate your class schedule.
Preference for applicants potentially able to work through fall and
spring semesters. Pay $14-$15/hr depending on experience.

The successful applicant must be proficient in Java, and have experience
with scripting languages (ex: PHP, Javascript), including web
development and writing scripts to convert data from one format to
another. Knowledge of database tools such as MySQL is also required.
Experience with angular.js and Twitter Bootstrap strongly preferred.
Experience with content management systems is helpful. This position
requires strong organizational and oral communication skills. Must be
detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.

Development Program:

Software Engineer
•Chart the digital frontier in one of our Mobile (Native), Web, or API
development

Data Engineer
•Built out our analytic capabilities using big data technologies
•Design, develop, and test robust data solutions using open source

Infrastructure Engineer
•Establish a resilient and flexible technology infrastructure with a
relentless focus on automation and cloud engineering

Cyber Security Engineer
•Support cyber security monitoring and response capabilities to thwart

Database Intern Developer (Position Code: 2015-DB-IN-AI)

Agrible, Inc in Champaign, IL is seeking interns to assist with our
database development project. You will be involved in research and
design, analysis, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting our
database system in an Hadoop environment to support predictive analytic
tools. Qualified candidates will work with senior engineers to design
and program database functionality in a distributed computing
environment.

This Position is part-time during the academic fall/spring semesters or
full-time during the summer session and paid commensurate with
experience. Self-motivated graduate or undergraduate students seeking a
challenge will be well met by this experience. Agrible is venture
capital backed team of over 30, made up of agricultural engineers,
developers, business people, and support team members who have a deep
love of agriculture, as well as unique and innovative applications of
big data analysis.

Qualifications:
• Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science,
computer engineering, or other related field based on experience and
background
• Familiar with Linux
• Experience with database design and SQL preferred
• Knowledge of Python preferred
• Development with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based
infrastructure preferred
• Available approximately 10 hours per week during fall and spring
semesters, and available full
time during the summer
• Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities include assisting with:
• Gathering and organizing requirements
• Analyzing and designing database schema to support analytic processes
• Generating scripts for database deployment and data migration,
manipulation and uploads • Producing design document materials
• Developing production support procedures
• Testing new prototypes
