Computer Forensics and Evidence Issues

Jim Murray is Senior Manager in the Forensic Accounting and Investigative Services practice of Grant Thornton.s Economic Advisory Services (EAS). Grant Thornton LLP is the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International, one of the six global accounting, tax and business advisory organizations. Mr. Murray has 13 years of experience conducting computer forensic examinations in support of criminal and administrative investigations for Federal, State, County and Local law enforcement agencies. He has conducted examinations in the Illinois State Police Computer Crime Lab and the FBI Chicago Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory. His experience is primarily with Windows based systems and has experience with peer-to-peer and Internet based investigations. Jim has an Advanced LAN Management Certificate from Oakton Community College and a Master of Telecommunication Management degree from the Keller Graduate School of Management of Devry University. He also holds the following certifications; Comptia A+ and Net+, the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialist - Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), Guidance Software's - EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), FBI Computer Analysis and Response Team - Field Examiner (FE) certification, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center - Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Specialist (SCERS) certification
